This painting by Ernie Philpot of Mt. Lawley was done (in his developmental period?) about 1953-6? I believe it represents the view looking from about the Barracks Arch east down St Georges Terrace on a wet night (while waiting for a bus!) The Florence Hummerston Park would be on R.H.S. And beyond that, the old ‘Shell’ building. (Ean McDonald)
